Wind PulseSense unlocks $5,700/MW in additional revenue

A wind plant in Southeast Asia was producing below its pre-construction expectations, despite remaining under an OEM full-service agreement and warranty.
Wind PulseSense analyzed the plant’s existing operating data to identify the causes of underperformance and recommend corrective actions without requiring additional hardware.
The analysis uncovered three important issues:
Significant static yaw misalignment on 27 of 30 turbines
Unnecessary yaw-error shutdowns during lower wind speeds
Rated-power behavior below the OEM specification
Because yaw misalignment varied across the plant, turbine-specific controller adjustments were recommended instead of applying a single correction to every turbine.
After corrective action, the plant achieved:
2% increase in annual energy production
$5,700 per MW in additional annual revenue
Approximately $450,000 in total annual benefit
The case demonstrates the value of moving beyond general underperformance alerts to specific diagnoses, corrective recommendations and post-correction measurement.
